Your 2014 State Council

Your 2014 State Council

Friday, February 27, 2009

Greetings! My name is Alex Stepnoski and I am honored to be your 2009 Pennsylvania State 4-H Council Vice President of Conference! I live in Bucks County where I am involved in the 4-H Teen Council, Buckingham 4-H, and Little Rascals 4-H Rabbit and Cavy (guinea pig) clubs. I am very much looking forward to representing the State 4-H program at various events.

To start off the council year, we were inducted at the 2009 Pennsylvania State 4-H Leadership Conference on January 30-February 1. This is where we begin to build the foundation of the council team. There were just over three hundred delegates at this fine conference, located at the Penn Stater Hotel in State College. The theme was “Dive into Leadership”. Delegates learn various leadership skills and apply them by participating in group activities in workshops. They also have the opportunity to listen to keynote speakers.

A couple of weeks after the Leadership Conference, we participated in our Training and Orientation Weekend at the Hartman Center near State College. Throughout the training session, we brainstormed themes for both State Days and the 2010 Leadership Conference. The 2009 State Days theme is “Rev up for State Days” and the 2010 Leadership Conference theme is “License to Lead”. We also gained knowledge in order to serve our 4-H program to the best of our abilities.

I am looking forward to meeting all of you throughout the course of the year!

Thank you very much!

Alex Stepnoski
2009 Pennsylvania 4-H Vice President of Conference
